KEYIR NEWS:- Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, Chief of the General Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF), held a productive meeting today with Lieutenant General Mohamed Badr, Inspector General of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen defense cooperation between the two nations.
The engagement, which builds upon the fruitful discussions held last year in Addis Ababa and Rabat, reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to expanding areas of strategic collaboration.
Field Marshal Birhanu noted the progress achieved thus far, while Lieutenant General Badr commended Ethiopia’s enduring legacy as a symbol of African independence and expressed Morocco’s firm desire to work jointly in promoting peace and security across the continent.
The deliberations focused on sharing Morocco’s experience in the fields of technology, cybersecurity, and air and naval capabilities, while recognizing Ethiopia’s growing industrial development as an important foundation for future partnerships.
Both sides emphasized the importance of addressing regional security challenges through coordinated and sustained efforts. In this spirit, the two countries are working towards the signing of a memorandum of understanding that will formalize and further enhance their defense ties.
