Ethiopian musician Andualem Gosa, recently released from custody, paid an emotional visit to the grave of his late fiancée, Keneni Adugna, at Holy Trinity (Selassie) Church shortly after returning home.
Andualem had been in prison since March 2, 2017, following the tragic death of Keneni Adugna Wako, who died after falling from the balcony of her fifth-floor apartment in the Wudasie Building, located in Bole Kura District three, Addis Ababa.
The incident occurred around 10:00 PM on March 11, 2025, and Keneni passed away while being transported to Yanet Hospital.
The artist was arrested the following day as the primary suspect in the case, given that he was present at the scene when the fall occurred. Police detained him while an investigation was launched into the circumstances surrounding her death.
After more than three months in detention, Andualem was released on bail of 50,000 birr on Monday evening. His attorney, Liben Abdi, confirmed that the Federal First Instance Court, Arada Division, had accepted the legal arguments and granted bail.
While the legal proceedings are still ongoing, Andualem’s visit to Keneni’s grave marks a poignant and highly emotional moment in a case that has attracted public attention for years.
The circumstances surrounding Keneni’s death remain the subject of legal review.
